“That sh*t’s out of here”: Netflix Faces Another Financial Blow, As the Vince McMahon Documentary Is Pulled After Spending Millions on It

It feels like an eternity has passed since Netflix announced a documentary about Vince McMahon. Fans were excited to learn about the past of the man who is responsible for the success of WWE right now. However, after almost two years of being in deep production, it looks like Netflix has finally pulled the plug on the project.

Netflix cancels the Vince McMahon documentary

Previously, Netflix and WWE claimed a Vince McMahon documentary was in the works. But according to a new report from Fightful’s Denise Salcedo, the project has been canceled and is no longer on Netflix’s spreadsheet.

According to the article, a Netflix insider verified that it is no longer on the spreadsheet, while another Netflix source stated that “that s*** is out of here.”

Another insider indicated that the film was currently in post-production, with multiple talent interviews completed and millions already spent. Netflix has not yet formally commented on the project’s status.

Earlier, Stephanie McMahon gave us an update on the project at a March of Dimes event. She said that the series was going to drop in 2022 with no official release date.

In an earlier radio interview, Triple H discussed the concept, stating that Vince was first reluctant about the documentary series.

Triple H said, “I think prior to now, Vince was always hesitant to do it.”

The project was still in development in April

The docuseries was still in development as of mid-April of this year. And the WrestleMania 38 creative between McMahon and Pat McAfee was going to be included in the final product. The project still had no release date or title as of mid-April.

Netflix officials are still to comment on the ambiguous status of the project. But after years in development with no release date, it might actually be true that the project stands canceled.
