This last year has been a trying time for the DCEU followers, especially fans of Superman. From the Supergirl film getting scrapped to multiple rumors of Henry Cavill joining the MCU, it seemed like a tragic end to Cavill’s Man of Steel avatar. Regarded as the literal embodiment of Superman by audiences around the world, the chatter about him hanging up the red cape was absolutely heartbreaking.

Then came the Black Adam announcement. With Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson teasing Cavill’s return and the final trailer almost giving it away, there was still a glimmer of hope. Finally, the much-anticipated cameo graced our screens as Cavill appeared in a post-credit scene. Additionally, Henry himself has come out with an official statement that has the fans absolutely ecstatic.

On October 24, Henry Cavill took to Instagram and officially announced his comeback as the Man of Steel. Along with a still from his Black Adam cameo, the Man From U.N.C.L.E actor even had a personalized message for his fans. Cavill explained how he wanted to wait until enough people had watched the latest DC film. Despite the internet being flooded with spoilers of his cameo, he wished to avoid the giveaway from the horse’s mouth.

“I wanted to make it official that I am back as Superman,” stated Cavill.

He further elaborated how the still from his post and his appearance in Black Adam “are just a very small taste of things to come.” The son of krypton also expressed his heartfelt gratitude toward his fans for their undeterred support and patience. He ensured every one of his followers that “it will be rewarded.” As expected, just like us, the fans just could not contain their happiness. Plethora of beautifully crafted messages lit up the comment section.

For many, the pleasure and satisfaction even turned into tears of joy. With emotions running high, the fans opened up about how proud they were of The Witcher actor. They even vocalized that Cavill was the Superman of their generation.

One even called him “the best thing in Black Adam.” With this announcement and the release of Enola Holmes 2 just around the corner, Henry Cavill is going to be all over our screens, not that we are complaining.
