Sydney Sweeney’s ‘Reality’ Could Be In Running for a Major Award in 2023 Alongside Jennifer Lopez’s Next Flick Predicts Variety
Though Sydney Sweeney began her 2023 with a truckload of advertisement campaigns, she did not shift her focus from cinema. The actress announced a rom-com with Glen Powell, which fans wanted to see her in for a long time. Moreover, this year saw the release of one of the actress’s most ambitious projects, based on a real-life story.
The first film of the actress that came out this year was Reality, which is in the running to win an Emmy. It is a drama that is based on the real-life incidents of the NSA whistleblower Reality Winner. The film gained quite a lot of recognition at the Berlin film Festival, where it premiered for the first time. However, for the Primetime Emmys this year, the film is in line with Jennifer Lopez’s Shotgun Wedding.

According to the prediction of Variety, the 2023 Emmy awards might see tough competition in its TV movie category. The Euphoria actress has done an outstanding job in her Tina Satter directorial and the crisp story and performances have raised the chances of the film getting nominated. The film is based on Satter’s play ‘This is a Room’ inspired by Winner’s FBI interrogation.
While Reality is acquired by HBO, Lopez’s December 2022 release saw its debut on Prime Video. But these two are not the only prediction Variety has made for the Emmys.

Apart from Hollywood’s brand new and forever ‘IT’ girls, the publication has a few names in mind who might stand a chance in the category. Daniel Radcliffe starrer Weird: The Al Yankovic Story, Dolly Parton’s Mountain Magic Christmas, and three nominations from Hulu – Prey, Boston Strangler, and Fire Island are in the line to give a tough fight. NBC’s Dolly Parton’s Mountain Magic Christmas has also made it to the top ten predictions of Variety.

Even though Reality is not yet released to the public, the Spokane native’s fans are rooting for her. Moreover, it will not be her first time standing in line for the Emmys. Last year, she was nominated not once but twice for her shows Euphoria and The White Lotus. Even after a lot of manifestation by the fans, the actress did not win the award; however, she is returning with a wider fanbase and a much stronger performance.
