The entire DCEU fandom felt a crack in their chest when Henry Cavill called it quits as Superman. Although after the release of Black Adam, it was hinted by Dwayne Johnson that he will return as Superman. However, now it has been made official that he is no longer playing the Man of Steel.

However, there is yet another surprising news surfacing on the internet that will blow your mind. A new Superman has taken entry in the game and it is someone who nobody expected. It is none other than The Umbrella Academy fame actor Elliot Page. However, the question that might come to your mind “is it official?” Let’s find out.

Is Elliot Page officially replacing Henry Cavill?

James Gunn made it official that Henry Cavill will no longer play Superman as he wants to take it in a “newer direction“. That is because DCEU now wants to focus on an earlier story of Superman’s life where obviously he needs to be young. Now Cavill being 39 won’t suit the role anymore.

Since then, the hunt for DC studios to cast an appropriate actor who would fit the role has begun. According to Movie Web, some of the names that were thought of are Stranger Things fame, Joseph Quinn, Euphoria fame Jacob Elordi and The Politician fame David Corenswet. The possibility of a black Superman was also taken into account as One Night in Miami fame Eli Goree came into the race.

However, Elliot Page is a new name that has emerged on the list of “who could be the next Superman“. It is more surprising because Page is a trans actor. He has previously played a girl, Vanya, in Netflix’s blockbuster show The Umbrella Academy. He made it to the news as a fan shared his artwork where he portrayed Page as Superman.

However, he is most certainly not likely to play Superman because he is in talks with Marvel studios to play a yet-to-be-announced superhero. The Tweet by OtmShank was just another made-up claim that he thought would be funny if went viral.

Although one solid news that according to Giant Freakin Robot is that Christopher McQuarrie, might be in charge of the next Superman movies.
