However, no era of gossip comes close to that of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. Not only did they make history when they stepped down as senior Royal officials but also when they let bare the discriminations they claimed to have faced in the royal family. After witnessing Netflix’s successful venture with the Harry & Meghan docuseries and The Crown, Channel 4 has decided to also put their foot in royal waters. However, they are planning to go deeper inside.
Channel 4 follows Netflix’s footsteps toward Royalty
Seeing potential after the Oprah interview with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, which garnered more than a million viewers, Netflix grabbed the opportunity by its reigns. The reigns are a multi-million dollar deal with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle which will consist of the two recountings of their experience with the Royal family. This is not the first time that the OTT Mughal has put its foot into the Royal waters.
Its highly popular fictional series, The Crown, has not only won awards for excellence but also hearts for precision. Channel 4, with its The Royals: A History of Scandals, plans to do the same by having a professional historian by the name of Suzannah Lipscomb on board.
Instead of fictional storytelling, it will follow the route of interviewing royal experts. The best part, however, is that the show will not be focused on Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
