‘Stranger Things’ Star David Harbour Reveals the “Cringy” Promo the Star Cast of the Show Did With Fans Once
There is hardly any chance people might not have heard about Stranger Things. The series has continued to generate conversation and excitement among fans all these years standing out from the herd of content Netflix has. So much so that the show can easily sail without painting the entire town red and black for promotion.
Fans would agree that the show certainly does not need much promotion now, but if David Harbour is to be believed, then it was far from the case once upon a time.
David Harbour recalls the promo they did with fans back in the days

David Harbour sat down with ComicBook before the SAG-AFTRA strike, to promote his upcoming film Grand Turismo. During the conversation, he also shared details of a Stranger Things promo that the cast members did in the second season. The actor revealed he and his costars got on a bus to meet their fans. In this promotional road tour, all the cast members also had to stop traffic and get off the bus to meet people on the way.
Though fans of this beloved cast might have found it amusing, none of the star kids liked it. Harbour dug into his slang dictionary and said that the kids found it “cringy“. It was quite a unique experience for them because the show became immensely popular till season 2.
This revelation comes some days after the 48-year-old dropped a major hint about season 5. Meanwhile, the strategy of their promo improved has improved over the years.
Stranger Things partnered with big brands name for promo

In 2019, Stranger Things and Coca-Cola teamed up ahead of the release of season 3. This advertisement was inspired by the 80s in which the show was set while it also revamped the drink, New Coke. It featured Steve Harrington played by Joe Keery, heading to the theater at Starcourt. Another promo named the “Mind Ordering” app included Dustin, Lucas, and Eleven trying to get their hands on Domino’s pizza, where the girl used her powers to place an order.
Other promos include shops and attractions at Universal’s Halloween Horror Nights where fans can experience the horror of the show. In fact, this year also the horror house was inspired by the penultimate season which depicted Vecna.
