About four days back, Deadline reported the shooting of Stranger Things will begin in early January with speculated dates being January 8 or January 5. Given this precedent, the earliest season 5 could make it to Netflix would be between February and April 2025. Last month, Ross Duffer turned to Instagram to confirm that they have short-listed the characters for the first two episodes of Season 5. Through famous Funko pop dolls, he showed the characters in groups except Max who lay with her face down. This hint left fans worried about what this tease meant for the character. Max lost her vision and was braindead when Eleven checked on her but fans have been hoping for her survival.

Last week, he also revealed the camera tests for Hopper, Nancy, Lucas, and Dustin have been completed. Duffer also shared multiple photos of location scouting on his Instagram—all adding to the fan anticipation. However, the specific details about the plotline have been kept under wraps so far.

A lot of details about season 5, including the release date and plotline, may be murky at the moment. But two things are clear: Stranger Things is a priority for Netflix and production will start sooner than later.
