Fans are currently on high alert for any developments or insights into Stranger Things Season 5. What whetted their appetite, even more, was the creators’ bold claims. They claimed the final season to be the most intense season in the whole saga and a cinematic masterpiece. The mysteries that were left hanging from Season 4 also made everyone ponder what twists lay ahead. However, the Hollywood strikes did cast a shadow on the initial enthusiasm for the unfolding of the final chapter. 

Now that all those hurdles are in the rearview mirror, the filming of the fifth and final season is in full swing, with a clearly defined production period.

Stranger Things season 5 filming period

The fan page Stranger Things Spoilers disclosed the filming timeline for Season 5 on X, formerly Twitter. The report was also confirmed by several media outlets and sources. As per the report, the filming is scheduled to kick off in early January and wrap up by late September. News of a potential filming period had already started circulating around October. As per the earlier report, the filming was supposed to wrap up by May or June. 

Possibly, there was still some groundwork left for the makers which needed to be sorted out before they officially hit the lights for Season 5. It is worth mentioning that the official profiles of Stranger Things and the team have not given the green light on this news. However, considering the stream of hints from the creators and a few actors, it looks like the filming period is definitely drawing near.

For a good while, Ross Duffer, the mastermind behind Stranger Things, has been sharing tidbits that strongly contribute to the growing speculation. 

Ross Duffer’s cryptic stories hinting at season 5’s filming 

Ross Duffer has been giving fans a backstage pass to the Stranger Things sets through his Instagram stories. The series of stories kicked off with pictures of stones, each with the names of characters who bit the dust. These stories are a big neon sign that Season 5 is either about to start rolling or is already in motion. Additionally, one of the main cast, David Harbour, further added more spice to these speculations. 

David Harbour popped up at a Boston Bruins vs. New York Rangers hockey match last month. When the camera zeroed in on him, eagle-eyed fans could not help but notice his shaved head look. It was the same shaved head look he sported in Season 4, right after he escaped from the Russian jail. With all these hints dropping left and right, it is safe to say that Stranger Things Season 5 is inching closer.
