Stranger Things Season 5 owing to the standards set by the previous season and the show in all its entirety, was set to be a cinematic phenomenon that had fans bouncing off the walls. But it was not just fans who were excited about the release. Netflix itself was counting on the final season of its money-making series to turn the tides. Evidently neither the streamer’s plan to rake in the massive views nor that of fans to binge-watch the series is even close to coming true.

Of all the things that fans anticipated would happen between the time window of Stranger Things Season 4 and Season 5, strikes that would bring Hollywood to a halt were out of the question. But looks like the universe has conspired not just to thicken the plot of the Duffer Brothers series but also the fog surrounding its release.

Stranger Things Season 5 faces an extended delay

Following the massive success of Season 4, everyone had their eyes on the Stranger Things Season 5 release date. However, the Duffer Brothers, although immensely generous in case of delivering cinematic brilliance, had from the onset arranged a far-off release date for their final season in the summer of 2024. While the brothers are known for excessively panning every intricate detail, even they did not plan to abruptly shut down work on their masterpiece and go on a strike. This has ultimately pushed the release date of the series, although yet to be made official, all the way to 2025.

Fans were understanding of the delay as the strikes commenced. However, as the streamers and SAG-AFTRA are unable to come to a negotiation, they are losing hope. Especially fans of Stranger Things as the cast continues to grow out their characters, with the lead actress even getting engaged.

Fans in an attempt to cheer up after David Harbour’s statements regarding the delay made jokes about Stranger Things Season 5 releasing in 2025. But as bizarre as the joke may sound, it may just be the most accurate prediction fans have made.

Will Season 5 release in 2o25?

While the expectations for Stranger Things Season 5 were always high, they are soaring right now. And they will continue to soar even higher as the delay extends. This is why originally set for mid-2024, Stranger Things, even if it has already begun filming, which is highly doubtful, will release in 2025.

It takes about seven to eight months for the show to get ready in order to truly bring to life the upside down. And that too will only be possible if the strikes come to an end within this year. So far, Stranger Things Season 5 release date hangs somewhere between late 2024 and mid-2025.
