The anticipation for Stranger Things season 5 is through the roof as the production finally kicked into high gear. The creators of the award-winning series recently strutted down the red carpet at the star-studded opening of Stranger Things: The First Shadow. This is the first theater spin-off of the TV show and is also known as West End. The Duffer Brothers spilled some beans about the development of the final season at the premiere of the show.
Ross Duffer’s tantalizing Instagram stories have already stirred up excitement among fans for Stranger Things Season Five. And now these fresh insights have added another layer to their growing curiosity.

Shawn Levy, the Duffer brothers, alongside producer Sonia Friedman, Matthew Modine, Lily Allen, and David Harbor were all present at the premiere of the stage spin-off’s premiere. During an interview on the red carpet, the brothers revealed that the upcoming season will be eight episodes long. And they have already wrapped up the table read for six of them. Apart from that, the filming of the final season is set to extend over a year.
The Duffer Brothers also revealed that the last two episodes will be “very emotional”. While speaking with The Guardian about Stranger Things: The First Shadow, the two shared the final season would mirror the first season. “It’s like season one on steroids”, said Matt Duffer. With this revelation, they also debunked a popular theory regarding the conclusion of the sci-fi series.
The Duffer Brothers confirmed that every event in the show was not a part of the Dungeons and Dragons campaign, which would have completely robbed the show of its impact.

The story that began in the 1980s Hawkins will finally come to a full circle with the upcoming season. And there have been numerous speculations regarding how the story will draw its curtain. One popular theory suggested that the events of the show were all part of a Dungeons and Dragons game and it was all simply an imagination. Duffer Brothers, while speaking to Metro United Kingdom, denied the theory of the story being a dream for a character all along.

The brothers commented on the theory saying, “That would be the equivalent of, ‘That’s all a dream’”. They went on to guarantee that was not how they were going to end the show. The brothers also teased an ending that would satisfy everyone despite it being an emotional rollercoaster. As the filming will commence in January 2024, fans can circle 2025 on their calendars for the much-anticipated finale!
