Stranger Things Loses the #1 Spot in Netflix Top 10 to Another Chartbuster Show
Stranger Things Season 4 was the most-watched show on Netflix from the minute it debuted. The most recent set of episodes is the company’s most popular English-language series in its history. So far, subscribers have watched 883 million hours of the show’s Season 4 alone. Except for Squid Game, this is the most hours ever devoured by a Netflix series.
But records are meant to be broken, and finally, Stranger Things is not the number one TV show on Netflix in the United States this week for the first time since Season 4 was released on May 27. It was recently pulled from the top ten list of Netflix’s daily top ten shows.

Stranger Things dethroned from the top position
Netflix has a range of great and entertaining shows that have made the streaming service one of the most popular. However, no show on any streamer comes even close to the popularity that Stranger Things has.
But now that another show has overtaken Stranger Things’ top position and it makes sense for it to be another Netflix Original.
The third season of The Umbrella Academy, which launched on June 22, has earned the top place on Netflix’s daily top ten series list.
Stranger Things season 4 nearly held the top place until July 1, when part 2 of the season airs with the last two episodes, which will certainly drive it to the top spot for a moment.
Right now, the series is steadily approaching Squid Game’s audience record. But it will require the next two episodes to outperform the previous seven if it is to catch up.

As for The Umbrella Academy, the show has proven to be a wonderful, highly-watched series. The series instant placement at #1 following its premiere is a testament to its popularity.
The Umbrella Academy is one of Netflix’s most successful programs. The show has consistently been ranking in the top ten of its annual English language releases.

And with at least one more season for both shows to come, it will be interesting to see how the competition turns out next year.
