As Stranger Things season 5 takes its sweet time in the making, fans have seized the two-year-long gap to unearth fresh, hidden Easter eggs from the Netflix show. And Redditors are largely to thank for this treasure hunt. The Reddit community has stumbled upon some of the most brilliant details from the show that no one noticed. From the cool IT Easter egg in Stranger Things 2 to spotting that the rainbows in half of the rainbow room in season 4 are upside down, Stranger Things fan accounts on Reddit have truly revealed some genius details.

One of the popular Stranger Things fan accounts, titled StrangerThings, recently brought out a detail about Millie Bobby Brown’s character, Eleven. This detail was noticed in season 2, episode 3, in the scene where Eleven and David Harbour’s character, Hopper, were seen setting up their new hideout in the fortified cabin in the woods. During the scene, Hopper was seen playing Jim Croce’s 'You Don't Mess Around With Jim,' taking Eleven evidently aback. This led Redditors to think that maybe Eleven was hearing music for the first time.

Eleven had been cooped up in the Hawkins lab all her childhood, which made this theory all the more believable. However, there are some inaccuracies with this theory. There was a radio playing at Benny's when Eleven first went to grab some food, and it could also be possible that she heard some music staying at the Wheelers’ for so many days. These facts have sparked a debate among Redditors as they tried to get to the bottom of Eleven’s stunned reaction to Hopper grooving to 'You Don't Mess Around With Jim'.

Many fans agreed with the speculation that Eleven might not have ever heard music before, while some said that it was Hopper’s dance that took her by surprise. They said it was “just a little girl learning what music and dancing are.” However, some fans felt that while Eleven may have listened to music before, she was unaware of “rock music.” Seeing someone dance to it, “especially someone that’s usually stoic, like Hopper,” was the main reason behind her surprise.

The most logical reason, however, was Eleven's “extremely strong startle reflex.” A user explained how her abuse at the Hawkins lab, where she first built an intellectual connection with the show's antagonist, led her to interpret any sudden movement or loud noise she heard at the lab as a danger to her. Whether or not she heard music for the first time in season 2, after she had a hell of a time partying with Max to Madonna’s ‘Material Girl,’ it is clear that she has become quite the music enthusiast.
