Stranger Things season 4 introduced several new characters. Some of them instantly became fan-favorite and Argyle was among them. Sadly, Eduardo Franco, who played this eccentric character, revealed in an interview that he will not return to season 5. The actor did not get a call from the creators, so he believed it was the end of his role. However, this seems to not be the only hit fans would get during the fifth and final season as they might also lose Eddie Munson forever too.

New pictures for the set showed the beloved Dusty recreating Eddie Munson’s famous gesture. In the sneak peek, Gaten Matarazzo imitated the Metalhead by sticking out his tongue and forming antlers over his head. He also wore his Hellfire Club tee and a very Munson-inspired hairstyle. More pictures shared on social media revealed the devastating details of the filming location and left no room for the return of the beloved character.

A pair of snaps shared on X (formerly Twitter) showed Matarazzo standing beside Eddie Munson’s gravestone. In season 4, this character played by Joseph Quinn showed a remarkable turn of bravery and sacrificed his life in Upside Down to save Dustin. However, fans who loved him refused to say goodbye to him. Some created theories of his revival as a supernatural entity, while others wished he did not die in the alternative dimension. 

Not to mention, he was also not included in the first picture the team shared online, just like Argyle. So this implies he would not return for the last battle in the show. Now fans are mourning the loss of Eddie Munson, witnessing his name inscribed on the tomb.

Stranger Things fans left heartbroken 

Eddie Munson instantly made a place in the hearts of the devoted fandom of Stranger Things. His outcast reputation and kind heart won the favor of the audience. These glimpses from the set of season 5 have finally shattered their hopes. Many fans filled the threads with heartbreaking comments and teary-eyed emojis.  

Some fans choked seeing that they would have to let go Munson and there was no other option.

Fans’ love for the character of the horror drama has always been evident. The way they flock to the internet to showcase their love is remarkable. However, these were just some sneak peek and only creators know what these moments mean in the storyline. So only time will tell where the Hellfire Club members will go after the departure of its leader or if there is still hope.
