Ross Duffer shared an Instagram story suggesting that camera tests are currently underway in the pre-production phase. He also dropped a hint that the final season is drawing near. In the next story, he specified that the camera tests for Hopper, Nancy, Lucas, and Dustin took place on Friday. Keeping the updates flowing, he shared a picture of his director chair with the ‘Ross Duffer’ insignia, along with some glimpses of set elements.
These stories surfaced just a day after the filming schedule for the upcoming season came to light. The fan page ‘Stranger Things Spoilers’ spilled the beans on Season 5’s filming timeline on X, formerly Twitter, which was then confirmed by various media sources. As per the update, the filming is set to kick off in early January and is expected to wrap up by late September.

In another interview with Collider, Levy shared that the upcoming season carries a highly emotional weight. He recalled the moments during the Duffer Brothers’ narration that brought tears to everyone in the room. Noah Schnapp, discussing his role as Will with the same publication, hinted at a significant character development for his role as Will.
He also underlined that the series began and will end with Will. Ross Duffer echoed Schnapp’s sentiment, stating to Variety that Will’s emotional arc will tie the entire series together. The release date of the final season of Stranger Things is not confirmed yet. However, fans are speculating it to hit the small screens by the end of 2024.
