And one of the most affected areas was arguably the Stranger Things fandom. Just when fans began to lose hope and debate about how awkward the actors would look playing their high school characters was at an all-time high, Stranger Things squashed any doubts about a 2024 release with back-to-back updates. Stranger News dropped a poster featuring Will Byers with a look of hopelessness in his eyes as a shiver-inducing “Hawkis will fall” is written in the middle. Along with exciting poster, it has also been confirmed that the Stranger Things Season 5 will have eight episodes. One less from the nine episodes that made up its blockbuster Season 4.

While the decline in the number of episodes follows Netflix’s latest norm, it also seems like the show is following a patter. The first season consisted of eight episodes while Season 2 had 9. This pattern is also followed by Season 3 and 4, respectively. However, the more important question is will all the episodes drop at once?

As it witnessed the  fast rise of other streamers and they hype surrounding their originals, it did not take long for Netflix to notice the pleasure of torturing fans one episode at a time. However, with shows like Stranger Things and The Witcher, the streamer is switching it up.

As witnessed through Stranger Things Season 4 and the latest season of The Witcher, the streamer drops the finale in two parts. While it worked like a charm for the Duffer Brothers’ directorial, it did not flare well for the Henry Cavill series. Given its current model, it is likely that Stranger Things Season 5 will also drop its finale in two parts. And if the “Hawkins will fall” on the poster is a hint, the wait will not be any less painful than Venca’s attack.
