According to the latest information provided by a scooper on X, Stranger Things: The Animated Series, as of now has already started production. The unnamed animated series is being produced by Flying Bark Productions along with executive producers, namely Duffer Brothers, Shawn Levy, Dan Cohen, and Eric Robles. The first concept art of the same was shown at a private Netflix event, giving a sneak peek into the upcoming series.
The animated series is part of the expanding Stranger Things universe, to serve the Saturday morning likes of audiences as planned by the Duffer brothers. Although the beginning of production indicates the completion of scripting, the storyline of the series is still kept under wraps, with no hints whatsoever. No details of the original cast retention or newer auditions have been made public yet.

As for the script work, the brothers praised Eric Robles and his team, calling their art so far "incredible."
The animated series promises to carry forward the Stranger Things legacy with the Duffer brothers eager to share more with fans. “The adventure continues,” they said in a report while concluding stirring excitement within fans. Although no release date has been announced so far, no animated series is likely to land in 2025 given the filming of the fifth season of the main franchise is already on the go.
