Stranger Things turned its young cast into overnight sensations. Ever since the show aired its first episode, people knew that these kids had not entered the industry for a momentary stint. The show gave the world a talent like Millie Bobby Brown, who not only made a name for herself in the cinematic world but has also been expanding her influence in various other niches. And now another actor from Stranger Things has gotten his dream of becoming a Scott Pilgrim cast fulfilled.

Scott Pilgrim Takes Off is the newly released animated Netflix series that hit the airwaves on Friday. The series featured the vocal talents of the entire main cast from the 2010 film, Scott Pilgrim vs. the World. It also had some fresh additions like Finn Wolfhard. On Saturday, Wolfhard shared the poster of the Netflix series on his Instagram with a caption saying, “[the producers] gave me the opportunity to live out my childhood dream”.

Wolfhard was very passionate about snagging a part in the franchise, the executive producer, BenDavid Grabinski, told Entertainment Weekley. Grabinski also revealed getting multiple calls from Wolfhard’s agent. This led the makers to finally consider Wolfhard for the role of a teen Scott Pilgrim.

Millie Bobby Brown’s Damsel recently released its trailer, which raised a lot of questions among fans. Many drew parallels between the upcoming movie and Enola Holmes considering the same trope of turning a distressed female character into a powerful warrior. The 2024 movie will start off with the setup of the Damsel trapped inside a cave with a deadly dragon. However, this time she will not wait for a knight to rescue her and will take on her own battle.

This trend of infusing classic fantasy with modern ethos has proven to be a winning formula for the streaming platform. The reimagined versions, Cursed and Pinocchio, are prime examples of this. With Damsel being around the corner, this trope could further shape a fresh and compelling genre on Netflix. With that being said, it is safe to assert that both the Stranger Things cast are contributing to the platform that initially propelled them into stardom.
