Ryan Gosling and Steve Carell once worked in a movie together which earned over $142 million at the Box Office and, for the co-stars, an amazing bond. As the entire world is freaking out over Gosling being cast as Ken in the upcoming Barbie movie, Steve Carell is hopping on to the train.
When the photo of Ryan Gosling with his washboard abs and Ken hair dropped, it felt like everything finally made sense. We were not the only ones who believed that Gosling was meant for the role. What did Steve Carell say about Ryan Gosling?
Much like how his character in The Office became an icon for the generations to come and, despite its years, still manages to be a hit. Carell lent his voice to the mega villain in Minions, Gru and he too became a loved character. The franchise added another hit Minions: The Rise of Gru, marking 12 years since the premiere of the first movie, and Carell couldn’t stop talking about his Crazy, Stupid, Love co-star.
The actor at first seemed to be at a loss for words and then said what many say about Ryan Gosling “He is the picture of manhood.” The La La Land star built his career by starring in independent films and many consider him as an ‘indie actor.’
Therefore, one would not imagine him with a waxed chest and sparkly jacket playing love interest to Barbie on any ordinary day. However, Carell jokingly revealed that “Ryan wears that, that’s what he wears out and about. So there was no delineation between character and actual persona,” told Carell to Access Hollywood.
