Netflix’s The Witcher has served its audience with various plot twists both on-screen and off-screen. After season 3’s lukewarm reception because of the removal of Henry Cavill as Geralt of Rivia, the fantasy show will now move forward into season 4 with Liam Hemsworth taking on the White Wolf’s garb. So far, this controversial season has not begun filming and was slated to start in 2024. Despite holding reservations regarding Cavill’s replacement, fans are quite eager to see how well the Australian actor can fill in the Brit’s shoes.

For those awaiting an update, here is one hinting at the series resuming production this month.

According to sources at Redanian Intelligence, The Witcher will start filming in March this year. This places a speculated release to occur in the summer of 2025 if all goes according to schedule. In the past, the series’ filming had followed a similar pattern, with shoots commencing in March and culminating in September. So, it seems like fans should be able to take a glimpse at Hemsworth’s first look as Geralt soon now.

Earlier, it was believed that the show would restart production this month. However, the new update hints at a delay caused because of reasons unknown. Meanwhile, before dropping season 4, Netflix is looking to release the anime spin-off The Witcher: Sirens of The Deep and a Rats spin-off later this year. So, Witcherverse enthusiasts will have plenty to indulge in till the next season of the original show launches.

While most fans are upset with Cavill’s departure, his replacement Liam Hemsworth is excited to take on the new role.

While fans of The Witcher were mostly dismayed by the show’s decision to replace Cavill, the crew of the series seems to be only looking at the bright side. According to remarks made by set designer, Andrew Laws in July last year, the inclusion of Hemsworth will lead to a “great evolution” in the Netflix series. He also claimed that The Hunger Games actor was extremely “excited” to join the show.

If the 33-year-old is entering the Continent’s cast with such enthusiasm, maybe he could prove the fans’ doubts about him wrong. Recently, Cavill’s loyalists even restarted a petition to have him reinstated as the monster hunter. With the series’ production moving along despite these protests, it seems like Hemsworth will have his chance to step into his The Witcher role soon.
