Zack Snyder can’t get enough of Netflix, and we absolutely love him for that. After “Army of the Dead”, the filmmaker is back on Netflix for a new film. With the pace at which Zack Snyder is exploring new genres, he will soon have to make his own genres. Snyder has already covered fantasy, zombie apocalypse, and superhero movies. In addition, he will now foray into the sci-fi genre with Rebel Moon on Netflix.

Netflix has confirmed Sofia Boutella, to be the first cast member of Rebel Moon. Reuniting with co-writers Shay Hatten (Army of the Dead) and Kurt Johnstad (300), Zack Snyder will direct, produce, and co-write the upcoming Netflix sci-fi adventure movie, Rebel Moon.

What is the movie about?

Zack Snyder set rebel Moon in a peaceful colony on the outskirts of the galaxy, which is under siege by the tyrant Regent Balisarius’ army. Its only chance is a mysterious young woman who seeks warriors from neighboring planets to assist them in taking a stand.

Zack Snyder will also reunite with other producers like Newman and Netflix Film Head Scott Stuber for this project.

Sofia Boutella is an Algerian actress who has been featured in several movies. Some of her most notable works are:

This movie could be Sofia’s chance to redeem herself as an actress. Netflix tweeted about the actress’s confirmation for the movie on November 3. But Netflix hasn’t yet confirmed what role Sofia will play in Rebel Moon.

Zack Snyder and Netflix

The Stone Quarry is the film’s production company, with Grand Electric, Eric Newman’s production firm, also cited as having an overall deal with Netflix. Zack Snyder and his wife Deborah Snyder are the owners of The Stone Quarry production company.

The Stone Quarry produced Army of Thieves, a spinoff of the Army of the Dead franchise, and Netflix globally released it on October 29. The production company is producing Army of the Dead: Lost Vegas, which is an anime spinoff, and Twilight of the Gods, which is a Norse mythology series.
