Doja Cat is not happy about being compared to Britney Spears. Both singers have a large fan base and are still very much in the limelight. While the ‘Boss Bitch’ singer rose to fame recently, Spears has been a heartthrob since the early 2000s. The latter disappeared from the limelight for a while, but recently came back to social media again.

Recently, Doja Cat got upset when trolls began comparing her to the ‘Toxic’ singer. The comparison started with her recent haircut, which turned a few heads and shocked many. The singer, however, didn’t take to it kindly and clapped back.

Britney Spears was once a pop icon who is still considered a musical sweetheart by many. But when Doja Cat was compared to her, the former did not take it very kindly. Speaking to Variety, she said, “It’s so incredibly disrespectful for people to be minimizing what Britney went through and make a joke out of something that was very serious and a big deal in her life.” It is known to the public that Spears shaved off her head in front of the paparazzi back in 2007 out of depression and frustration. The singer was going through mental health and family issues at the time.

Only in the last few years, it came to light that she wanted to get out of her conservatorship. Her father and other family members had control of her finances. This explained a lot of her outbursts and she received massive support for winning her case. Doja Cat explained how upset she gets over people making fun of such a serious matter. The 27-year-old singer herself has been through mental health struggles as a result of quick fame.

Doja Cat shaved off not just her head, but her eyebrows as well. But unlike Spears, the Californian did it out of curiosity and convenience. She wanted to see her head and make things more manageable. She recently made headlines for her crystal-studded look at the Paris Fashion Week as well. While some people still trolled her, the unique look was mostly applauded.
