Sydney Sweeney plays Penny Jo in Americana
Penny Jo is apparently the name of the character the Everything Sucks actress plays in the film. She is a waitress who is on a journey to steal a valuable artifact and meets other people with the same mission on her way. Most importantly, Jo’s character has a stutter in the film; hence, the 25-year-old actress had to work a lot on that.
The chaos in the film ensues as a gang of people tries to grab the shirt. The film is a dark comedy thriller that chronicles the trip of these individuals trying to steal the garment, which is a fabled Native American artifact.
This film is showcasing the debut of not one but two major personalities. Americana is the debut of Halsey on the big screen while the film is also director Tost’s first directional.
