Skipped! Amidst Speculation on Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Coronation Attendance, Royal Family Skips Princess Lilibet Diana’s Christening
The royal family might always be in the news for their interactions or activities, but they hardly ever get to spend time with each other as a family. Apart from the celebrated royal dinner, the family comes together for marriages, funerals, coronations, and christenings. And the chances are even slimmer in the case of the estranged Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
Prince Harry and the royal family no more share a close relationship became evident when Lilibet’s christening went by without their attendance. The Sussex’s coronation attendance has been at the center stage for a while. But looking at the royal family’s ignorance towards the Sussex’s invite, the answer seems to be clear.
Only invites, no attendance: New royal family rule?

Prince Harry and Prince William, on the day of their christening, were dressed in a traditional gown passed down by their ancestors as other royal family members gathered to celebrate. The same was followed for Prince George, Princess Charlotte, Prince Louis, and Archie. However, Lilibet Diana did not have the privilege of experiencing the moment with the royal family. A spokesman told People “I can confirm that Princess Lilibet Diana was christened on Friday, March 3 by the Archbishop of Los Angeles, the Rev John Taylor.” The christening took place sans the royal family, as they did not attend despite the invitation.
Royal christenings are marked by a family portrait, as the flag-bearers of the monarchy peer at the camera. And the fact that the tradition could not be followed at Princess Lilibet Diana’s christening is definitely saddening. This also points towards a newer generation of royalty without Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s kids.

Will Prince Harry and Meghan Markle reject the Coronation invitation?
The Sussexes invited the royal family to Princess Lilibet’s christening. And the royal family has sent an invitation to the Sussexes for the coronation. However, the royal family did not head over to California to join Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

And while the Sussexes have not always taken the royal path, they might take one by rejecting the coronation invite after the royal family rejected theirs.
