Zack Snyder is not abandoning his vision just yet. The man is one of the most sought-after directors in Hollywood. However, despite being Netflix’s priciest offering of 2023, his Rebel Moon - Part One: A Child of Fire, was collectively labeled as subpar by fans. One might think that this should deter the filmmaker from further expanding the franchise. But no, that will not be the case for Snyder, who always has his loyal fans sticking up for him no matter how bad the box office gets or how Rotten Tomatoes rates. 

Not this time around, though. The DCEU's original figurehead recently sat down with Radio Times for an interview. During the chat, he revealed his intentions to pump out "four or six movies" for the Rebel Moon franchise, despite its underwhelming reception. This interview came right in the midst of the hype for Rebel Moon - Part Two: The Scargiver, which hits screens on April 19. While Rebel Moon: Part Three has not been given the go-ahead yet, Snyder has a clear vision of what he wants to go down.

“We absolutely have the story all set, we did all that work”, Snyder told the publication. Meanwhile, he hinted that the second installment will tackle and wrap up all the lingering questions from the first part. The 58-year-old also suggested that he worried fans might feel "disappointed" if they were left with just one movie from Rebel Moon for now. However, judging by the response from fans, it seems to be quite the opposite.

Zack Snyder has some ambitious plans for his expansive world-building and aims to broaden the storyline of Rebel Moon into a future Snyderverse complete with tie-in novels, comic books, and even video games. However, doubts have already crept into fans' minds about the franchise, right from the outset of his vision. This skepticism is clearly reflected in fans' reactions to the news, with many expressing their reluctance to see the director push the "boring" franchise forward.

There was a chorus of pleas from people urging the filmmaker to put an end to any plans for expanding Rebel Moon.

Meanwhile, there was also some excitement building up for the second installment and some good vibes for what lies beyond.

A fan or not, Snyder's brilliance behind the camera is unmatched. However, whether he can win back fans' trust in the Rebel Moon franchise is something only the verdict on his second installment can tell.
