A few Stranger Things actors have gone on record saying they would be open to the idea of a spinoff. This includes Finn Wolfhard, Gaten Matarazzo, Sadie Sink, Charlie Heaton, Natalia Dyer, and Maya Hawke. During the promotions for season 4, both Wolfhard and Heaton chatted with Digital Spy about the spinoff idea. However, they agreed that it would only be cool if there was a significant time jump involved. Meanwhile, Gaten Matarazzo mentioned to Radio Times that he would be up for a spinoff, but not right away.
Sadie Sink, on the other hand, has consistently said she is not ready to leave Stranger Things just yet. Considering her enthusiasm and the ideas she is cooking up, it is safe to say she might seize the opportunity in a heartbeat. As for Maya Hawke and Natalia Dyer starring in a spinoff, they have some conditions. While Dyer would only join a spinoff if the Duffer Brothers are at the helm, as she told Cosmopolitan, Hawke stated in Rolling Stone that she would only do it if Joe Keery’s character, Steve Harrington, is involved.
Aside from these actors, one major star will most likely not return for anything beyond Stranger Things 5- Millie Bobby Brown.

While it is tough to pinpoint anyone as the ‘main character’ in Stranger Things, since the entire ensemble is important, Millie Bobby Brown is widely regarded as the protagonist of the Netflix show. However, it seems the actress is ready to say goodbye to her breakout role for good. During an interview with Seventeen magazine, the Enola Holmes star shared, “I’m definitely ready to wrap up.”
Having been part of the show for quite a while- nearly a decade- Brown feels it is time to shake off that Eleven persona and carve out her own path beyond Stranger Things. David Harbour shared similar sentiments while speaking to Discussing Film, stating, “It is time for us to leave that nest and try other things and different projects.” Nonetheless, many actors are definitely considering the possibility of staying in the franchise after Stranger Things season 5.
