Show Stealer! BTS’ Suga Looks Effortlessly Chic in New Valentino Campaign

The mega-popular K-pop band may have taken a bit of hiatus from their usual group activities, but the members are very much active in doing their own thing. While the eldest of the group, Jin, is serving in the military, the others are preparing for their comebacks, teaming up with other artists, or doing fashion campaigns. Suga, for one, is chosen as a model for this year’s Maison Valentino Essentials collection

This makes sense since the rapper is known for his duality on and off the stage. And he has always been vocal about the toxic culture of masculinity making him the perfect model for this campaign. The brand recently released a preview video, giving us a sneak peek into the campaign.

Suga from BTS rocks a bright pink ensemble for Valentino

Valentino could not have picked a better model to show off their new men’s collection. Famous for his cat-like features, Suga can very easily pull off styles that are a bit androgynous. With the latest collection, Valentino aims to challenge the conception of masculinity. It aims for a “boundless approach to clothing” for men. The behind-the-scenes video shows the BTS member in his current long black hair brushed back and sporting an all-black overall. It’s edgy and compliments his hip-hop background. The second look features him rocking a bright pink

Suga had previously voiced that he finds the concept of a culture of masculinity toxic that restricts men in terms of certain expressions or characteristics. “I’m not fond of these expressions. What does being masculine mean?” he told Esquire

One of the hyungs’, Suga, is known for keeping it casual yet chic. His personal sense of style involves mostly monochrome clothes, but he has also rocked neon colors to pastel pinks on stage. The man can do both badass and boyish cute. Suga recently flew to LA to support the Lakers in the Los Angeles Lakers vs. Dallas Mavericks game. His chic Valentino outfit at the Incheon International Airport before catching a flight to LA also made headlines.
