The wait for Stranger Things fans is finally over! They have been eagerly waiting for the release of The First Shadow, a stage play to delve into the past life of the show’s primary antagonist. The Duffer Brothers had dropped many teases in recent months, tickling viewers’ interest. Now that the show has finally opened at the Phoenix Theatre in London’s West End, fans were stunned by the star-studded night. The executive producer of the Netflix series and other streamer stars have stolen the thunder on the red carpet.

Stranger Things on Stage page on X, formerly Twitter, has dropped teases of the red carpet of The First Shadow. A video showed the event packed with Netflix stars. Matt and Ross Duffers also expressed their excitement and said, “There is a lot of callback to the show”. Then filmmaker Shawn Levy turned to the camera and exclaimed, “We’re finally here”. 

Matthew Modine, who played the role of Dr. Brenner aka Papa, also came with a wide smile on his face. “It’s a very important prequel to Stranger Things,” he told the interviewer. Besides him, David Harbour also dazzled the red carpet posing with his wife, Lily Allen, and seemed ready to head back to the sets as he cut off his hair.

From Heartstopper stars Joe Locke and Tobie Donovoe to The Crown‘s Prince Charles actor Dominic West to Deadpool 3 star Hugh Jackman, several others set the Phoenix Theatre ablaze with their charisma. With only a handful of pictures, the hype for The First Shadow is already reaching a fever pitch. So one could only imagine what viewers would do when they step out of the theatres after unveiling the mysteries of Hawkins in 1959. It is indeed exciting that fans get to know the past story of Vecna before they enter the last season of the show where Eleven finally fights with him.
