Netflix Queue recently sat down with Sarah Hindsgaul, the hair expert of the flagship drama Stranger Things. This interview gave a detailed account of how the artist designed the hair of actors for season 4. During the conversation, Hindsgaul took the opportunity to shed some light on the creation of Brown’s wig. She revealed that making a buzz-cut wig was one of the most challenging tasks she did this season. Since the 19-year-old did not want to cut her hair this time, so they decided to make a hairpiece.

Before doing this, the designer was told several times that creating a believable buzz-cut wig was not possible. However, proving all the naysayers wrong, Sarah Hindsgaul did it, along with her partners. It took three people, including her go-to wig maker Rob Pickens, to design and sew this elusive wig. They stitched the hairpiece with bits of silk under the short-clipped faux hair that could give the actress an authentic look.

The close-cropped wig was indeed an extraordinary achievement by Sarah Hindsgaul and her team. However, the process just did not end there, and they still had to fit that piece into Millie Bobby Brown’s long hair. For this, the team flatten hair with gel and wrapped it tightly in an elastic material. Then they would wait for 15 minutes to let it dry under the heat and finally fix the wig.

We all know that the British superstar shaved her head when she first appeared on the show. However, she could not do it this time because she is not that 12-year-old kid anymore. With her growing fame, the actress has lined up many other projects and hair is a part of her fashion statement these days. So it is quite understandable why the hairstylist had to do this and it came out perfectly well.
