To say that Ryan Reynolds is currently thriving will be an understatement, considering how the actor has been at his best for the past few years. However, 2023 awaits him with two babies, the fourth child of him and his lovely wife Blake Lively, and the production of Deadpool 3 alongside longtime friend Hugh Jackman. One can assume that the actor had a jolly 2022 with how he received the title of People’s Icon and even got Shania Twain to mention him on stage.

This and also the fact that his investment in Wrexham FC was bearing fruits added up as a major victory for Reynolds last year. And while there weren’t many acting gigs apart from The Adam Project and Spirited, he still made a mark. The actor is starting off strong this year with a nomination for Best Actor at the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Award. However, he will need to pass up some big names to attain the title.

Will Ryan Reynolds be able to win Best Actor?

Reynolds is nominated for his performance in The Adam Project, which was released in early 2022 on Netflix. Furthermore, the flick directed by Shawn Levy follows Adam Reed, the fighter pilot who gets to have Reynolds’ face. Reed travels back in time to fix his past mistakes. The film was a wonderful marriage of science fiction and comedy and was applauded for its message and performances.

While Reynolds undoubtedly delivered a strong performance, those of the other nominees are no weak bones. Nominated for Best Actor is also Dwayne Johnson for his role in DC’s Black Adam. Johnson garnered a passionate fanbase for his portrayal of the antihero.

Tom Cruise is nominated for his mega-hit Top Gun: Maverick, which broke records at the box office. Furthermore, Chris Hemsworth is nominated for Thor: Love and Thunder while Chris Pratt for Jurassic World: Dominion. Sonic the Hedgehog 2 star Jim Carrey has also earned a nomination.

The award is based on votes. Therefore, given how every actor that has been nominated is not only a fan favorite but also gave amazing performances, it looks like a tough tie. Moreover, the Kids’ Choice Awards are famous for their exquisite green slime and we are surely not the only ones wondering how will Hollywood’s funny guy, Ryan Reynolds, reacts to a load of slime falling on him.
