Russo Brothers Found Opportunity in Chaos While Filming ‘The Gray Man’ in Prague With Chris Evan and Ryan Gosling for Netflix
While obstacles might demotivate people, the Russo Brothers are just built differently. The duo found the perfect opportunity in chaos, or lack thereof, to make sure they make The Gray Man, the upcoming action thriller featuring Ryan Gosling and Chris Evans, even more alluring than it could have been otherwise.
Which “opportunity” did The Russo Brothers make use of in the shooting of The Gray Man?
The pandemic was a time the world collectively despises. As did The Russo Brothers initially. That changed one fine day in the beautiful city of Prague. The capital of the Czech Republic is usually extremely crowded. However, the duo found it in the middle of the pandemic, when people were forced to stay at home lest they spread the virus. While most of the stories of filmmaking during the pandemic involve struggles, this one did the exact opposite.

We all know that The Gray Man is a large project. The upcoming film boasts numerous large names like Chris Evans, The Russo Brothers, and Ryan Gosling, among others. The empty streets of Prague due to the pandemic allowed the directors to make the film even more magnificent and, by extension, even more anticipated than usual. The creators decided against the usage of CGI with the actual shooting taking place in a room with a green screen in the background. The Gray Man was shot in an actual city block.
The duo took advantage of “the fact that the city was emptier and usual“. They decided to build an entire city square that boasts a fountain at its heart. The place was subsequently destroyed as the shooting progressed. We’re assuming the latter is a result of a fight between Lloyd Hansen (EChris Evans) and the “gray man”, Counrt Gentry (Ryan Gosling). However, we will only know whether this speculation is true when The Gray Man actually hits the screens of Netflix.
The Gray Man to be available for streaming on Netflix on July 15, 2022.
