Royal Palace to Suffer “Irreversible Blow” if Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Opt Out of Coronation?
The countdown at Buckingham has finally begun. We are officially just 35 days away from King Charles and Queen Camilla’s coronation, which is to be held on the 6th of May, 2023. Speaking of the royals, the same date also marks Prince Archie of Sussex’s fourth birth anniversary. The eldest of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Prince Harry, and Meghan Markle, was born exactly on the same date in the year, 2019. Considering the fact that they now got two important family events clashing with each other, has reportedly become a major problem for the Sussex couple.
Speaking to GB news about the same, a royal expert weighed in on the possible ramifications that’ll follow the decision of the Sussex couple. While it is an undisputed fact that they will probably gain a lot of controversies in case they try to skip it, the Palace too might not be spared of the indignation by the masses.
Royal expert, Edward Coram-James, has warned through the outlet that by skipping the momentous event at the Palace, the self-exiled couple could cause “a fatal rift” with The Firm. “In a universe in which the damage already caused by the rift is still recoverable from, at least in part, a no-show would be the fatal, irreversible blow,” said the expert.

It is understood by the claims that, both in the perspective of the public and the eyes of the royal family as well, skipping the coronation does not sound like a good idea. Everything that the Sussex couple has done in the last few months to expose the royal family went unnoticed by their UK Sovereigns.

However, word has it that this is something that the Palace would not stand despite having sent the invitation. Back in the month of march, a Sussex spokesperson made it clear that the Duke has received an email from His Majesty considering the crowning ceremony. Thus, not turning up for the same despite the King’s active effort will “risk drawing out the conflict over the long term.”
