Royal controversies come and go but a Royal apology is for sure an eye-catcher. As glorified as it is, the UK Sovereigns have called prey to trenchant criticism in the past owing to their do not complain, do not explain agenda. However, once in a blue moon, we get to have a glimpse at the Royals confronting the speculations and sorting things out. Although the most important benefactor was still brutally ignored, some disputes are finally in order. The Countess of Wessex is here teaching the members how to pen an apology note.
In today’s episode of royal controversies, the headlines talk about the Earl, Prince Edward, and his wife, the Countess of Wessex. Giving Prince Harry and Meghan Markle a break, the spotlight is on how Princess Sophie has stepped out in the public to get certain allegations off her chest. Although it was overcrowded by the estranged Sussex couple on the other side, the Wessexes were dealing with their own fair share of controversies.

Countess of Wessex issues apology to Frank Skinner
It so happened that the Countess and her husband, Prince Edward, and English comedian Frank Skinner had a massive fallout sometime in the past. As reported by The Times, Skinner confessed in his Absolute Radio that Princess Sophie gave him a “banal compliment” about his performance at the 95th Royal Variety Performance. The event was evidently held at the Royal Albert Hall and the Countess left the two comedians in an ‘awkward shot’.
However, in an attempt to make amends and get things in order, the Countess sent a “lovely and classy” apology note to the comedian for her crude remarks. Skinner once again took to his radio show to reveal that he was “quite moved by it.” “It was lovely, I love her now,” gushed the star. He further broke the news to the internet that it was from Bagshot Park, by the Countess of Wessex herself. As a result, he was excited to get addressed and replied back to the letter with gracious words.

For the unversed, Princess Sophie was slandered by the media for calling out Frank Skinner and David Baddiel to “not give up on his day job.” She said so in a way of criticizing the comedians for their performance at the Variety show which left the onlookers in a fit of pique.
