After the long wait, Riverdale season 6 is leaving fans wondering about many things. The adventures and mysteries of Riverdale are never-ending but a question that has remained strong since season 1 is about, well, a love story. The show might have supernatural elements and murders, but, in the end, it is still a show surrounding the lives of a bunch of teenagers, made for a bunch of teenagers. So, are Betty Cooper and Archie Andrews going strong or is this not an endgame?
Betty and Archie- the friends to lovers trope manifested
As much as YA fans love an enemies-to-lovers, we must agree that there is something undeniably wholesome about a well-executed friends-to-lovers relationship. Maybe what sets it apart is the understanding and bond that goes beyond attraction or maybe it is the lack of toxicity that usually comes with others. While we cannot say for sure, we know for a fact that this is one of the prime reasons fans love Betty and Archie together.
However, this isn’t to say that the two had it smooth ever since the beginning. Betty initially was attracted to Archie and their friendship was turbulent, considering his attraction for Veronica. After 5 long seasons and many ups and downs, including a friends-with-benefit situation, the two finally seem to be coming together, again, in Riverdale season 6. Then again, with their long history in mind, will this be it, or is there still some hope for the Jughead and Betty shippers out there?
Will Betty and Archie stay together in Riverdale season 6?
After Jughead’s hearing loss, his behavior was not at its best. However, this didn’t seem to affect Tabitha and the two are still going strong. There goes half of the Betty and Archie ship out the window. Veronica and Reggie also seem to be doing fine except for the one lie that stands between them.
With all this in mind, it seems certain that Betty and Archie do not have external factors and lingering feelings for others affecting them. After the bomb explosion, it looks like they are here to stay.
However, we are still not placing our bets on this, knowing how much the showrunners love twists and turns. What are your thoughts on Barchie? Let us know in the comments and don’t forget to stream Riverdale on Netflix!
