Henry Cavill parted ways with Netflix’s The Witcher after playing Geralt in season 3. His exit had led everyone to believe that the show would never be the same again. But to make up to fans for this setback, the creators recently announced the inclusion of a new character from the fantasy saga. The streamer revealed on social media that Emmy winner actor Laurence Fishburne will head to the continent in Season 4 as Regis. Though this addition would bring new twists, it still has not filled the void for these missing characters from the show.

Here is the rundown of the characters who would have brought more depth to the story and enhanced the dynamics.

The Witcher has introduced several characters throughout three seasons that instantly took viewers’ attention. Regis being one of them, has provided for a great boost to the upcoming season. However, people have also lambasted the series for changes made to the source material. One reason was for not bringing characters who had a huge hand in building this storyline. Here are the four important figures from the books that should be included.

Zoltan Chivay

Geralt finds a loyal companion in Zoltan Chivay, a dwarf from the mountains of Mahakam after they meet by chance on the road. Chivay gives his sihil, an exceptionally sharp and sturdy dwarven sword to the mutant, as a token of their friendship.

Schirrú

Schirrú appears in The Time of Contempt, as a half-elf assassin who works for Vilgefortz. He would easily replace Rience as Vilgefortz’s chief agent and handle tasks the latter deems beneath him.

Isengrim Faoiltiarna

Isengrim Faoiltiarna, who also goes by the name Iron Wolf, is one of the most perilous antagonists in the books. His addition would undoubtedly be beneficial for the show to attract viewers’ attention once again.

Leo Bonhart

Leo Bonhart is an exceptional swordsman and has killed many Witchers on the continent. He is most likely to appear in season 4 considering his depiction would take the thrill and danger to the next level.

While it remains unclear if these characters will appear before the show ends, the confirmation of Regis’ entrance would be helpful for the White Wolf who has embarked on a journey to find his surprise child, Ciri.

Regis, also known as Emiel Regis Rohellec Terzieff-Godefroy, is one of the most brilliant and powerful characters in The Witcher universe. Being a higher vampire, he possesses near immortality and incredible speed and strength. He joins Geralt on his journey and has proven to be an ally throughout their time together.

Although his arc in the series has not been revealed yet, like the creators promised to follow source material closely, fans can expect to see them fight together. Meanwhile, how fans would receive season 4 without Henry Cavill also remains to be seen. After his exit, his fans vowed to not watch the show and have continuously asked the creators to bring him back. So only time will tell what the future brings for these characters and the show as well.
