An alluring dance of power and palace intrigue, The Crown remains the dazzling tiara in Netflix’s collection of gripping drama series. According to Deadline, a report by Sony Pictures details an additional profit of over $13 million gifted to Left Bank Pictures in March, 2023. A year before that, Sony had acquired the production house in an agreement. However, the reason for this payout is yet to be explained by the conglomerate. Apparently, the company’s CEO, Andy Harries did refer to it as quite an achievement for them in the past.
Since the series’ shoots culminated around the same time, it is speculated that the bonus could have been granted based on the show’s performance. So, it is likely that its employees are simply raking in the benefits of a job well done. Now, they plan on auctioning off items from its sets with the goal of putting proceeds into National Film and Television School scholarships.
Besides the auction, Left Bank Pictures CEO also hinted at an exciting update earlier.

In season 6, the series wrapped up with the passing away of Princess Diana and its effects on the royals, particularly her children. It touched upon Prince William’s early life through Ed McVey. Meanwhile, Luther Ford took on the job of portraying Prince Harry with little apprehension. So, the show may continue from where it left off, now focusing on the young royals and the unforgettable Megxit.
