Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Once Adopted Mamma Mia the Beagle Granting It a New Lease on Life
America is celebrating its royal wonder woman, who has been all for change and the betterment of the nation. The Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle, does not seem tired of winning her fourth back-to-back award for working towards noble causes as a world-renowned feminist and social activist. In light of the same, the internet has brought back another humble gesture once executed by the royal couple, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, to celebrate their kindness and generosity.
Last year in August, the Duke and the Duchess adopted a 7-year-old mother beagle rescued from a breeding facility. They gave Mamma Mia, the dog, a whole different life span in their grand Montecito estate, as opposed to how miserably it was treated for quite a long time in the breeding facility.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, in collaboration with the Humane Society of the United States, decided to make their small yet significant mark of change by helping one of them. The founder and president of the Beagle Freedom Project, Shannon Keith, spoke with WJLA about their experience with the royals. “They could not be any nicer or gracious,” said Keith after meeting the famous couple. They made the mother beagle feel at home in their lavish Montecito abode along with their other pet dogs and chickens.
Nonetheless, the dog now sustains a peaceful life along with her puppies, looked after and cared for by the Sussexes in the sunny side of California.

The local ABC affiliate, WJLA, reported that the dog was one of the 4000 other rescued dogs. America’s one of the leading welfare campaigns keeps a check on such atrocities of poor animals. The society rescued them all from the inhumane conditions at the Envigo breeding and research plant in Cumberland. As per the United Nations Humane Society, the facility practiced breeding dogs to sell them at laboratories for animal experimentation. However, that is now effectively shut down.

For the record, the federal authority claimed that the rescue comes after the Department of Justice filed a lawsuit against Envigo in May. It, in fact, alleges the Animal Welfare Act violations at the facility.
