In an era filled with hookups and casual relationships, Netflix has given its audience a friendship like no other in the latest season of Sex Education. While most people would think it was the friendship between Eric and Otis, this season had another duo making their way to the limelight. From being there through rather difficult times to even pointing out when there might be something odd about a new love interest, the streaming giant managed to depict their “platonic” relationship effortlessly.
Since the fourth season aired last month, fans have been entranced with the duo and their storylines. But now Netflix decided to tell fans what they actually think of the duo.

Following Netflix’s recent Stranger Things ship, the streaming giant has done it again. Recently, Netflix’s Sex Education page posted a picture of two Sex Education characters, Vivienne and Jackson, with the caption, “platonic soulmates.” Though they were not initially friends in the earlier seasons, the fourth season focused on the growth of both characters. And even brought them closer together after every outrageous event that unfolded. From a cancer scare to a toxic boyfriend and more, the duo learned to navigate through life with each other’s help.

While some scenes had viewers wondering if the friendship would last, the duo proved to make their way out of any bad situation together. But for a while there, no one knew what would happen when Beau, Viv’s boyfriend, started acting insecure because of their friendship. Thankfully, they made it through to the other side and had the entire audience wanting to scream in happiness.
Netflix, however, may have just added fuel to the fire with their latest post and left the internet divided. In fact, while the world might love Jackson and Vivienne’s friendship, there are some who wish it would grow into something else.
Sex Education fans divided over Netflix’s choice
Most Sex Education fans would wholeheartedly agree that the Viv and Jackson duo stole hearts. However, there are a few people who think otherwise. Though the duo proved time and again that they were just best friends, some viewers hoped to see them together. But with Netflix’s latest platonic ship, a few hearts have been breaking all over social media.

While the internet may be divided on how to feel about this sudden pick, fans will have to wait for the 5th season to watch how their friendship continues to grow. However, there is no update on what the next season holds and when fans can expect it to come out.
