From growing apart from his parents to facing the cruelest things in the human world, Superman has had a special place in the hearts of his fans. Clark Kent lost his father, had to face a lot of adversities, and ultimately had to rest in peace. Amidst the changes in DC Studios and Henry Cavill getting axed, fans discuss the irony of the Man of Steel’s life.

In 2013’s Man of Steel, fans saw Jonathan Kent, Clark Kent’s father, stuck in a car. He died there while Clark offered to help him. However, he denied his son’s help, and later; the fans witnessed Superman saving a lot of lives. Yet, he had to go through a bunch of chaotic situations. Fans talked about the irony of his life as he could save everyone but his father. A social media user posted a clip from the film where Superman saved a girl and wrote, “This is why Jonathan Kent didn’t want Clark to save him in Man of Steel.”

The user pointed out how the film showed a realistic take on humanity, and how the world would actually be if we had superheroes. On this Earth, every act is a political act, said a writer in the film. Because Kal-El is a character who is larger-than-life, people started debating over him and his intentions. Kent’s father, Jonathan Kent, did not let his son save him because he understood the fate of humanity before Superman even came out into the world.
