Ever since her cutting-edge breakout performance as the savage Ruth Langmore in Ozark, Julia Garner has been all uphill in her profession. From being a petty thief to becoming a crimelord in the dark, gloomy suburbs of the lakes, Garner brought out the actual vehemence and the force of her character. This cut-throat role alone fetched the star three incredible back-to-back Emmys.
Following this, she knocked yet another unconventional character off the park in the same year. Julia Garner played Anna Delvy, a real-life US criminal. The US crime branch had accused her of plunging half of America’s financial sectors into bankruptcy. She played the part of a fake German Heiress who is a Russian native but wanted to make a fortune in the states.
Will Julia Garner seal yet another coveted title for Ruth Langmore?
After her successful triumphs with the Emmys, the star is now straight-headed to the Screen Actor Guild Awards of 2023. With her iconic roles from both Ozark and Inventing Anna, Garner now potentially harbors a massive chance for sweeping off some more accolades for the former. As of now, the 28-year-old star has already bagged two best actress nominations for the SAG Awards in the year 2019 and 2021, respectively.
However, her most powerful and agonizing performance came out in the last season of the series. It will undoubtedly be episode 7, Sanctified, of season 4 for her. Julia’s Ruth flies into a wild rage as she loses the last of the Langmores. This episode alone galvanized all the award academia to bestow her with the accolade overdue and well-deserved. If so it happens, Garner would be the ninth dual TV contender for the SAG. In addition to that, she would also set the benchmark as the youngest to achieve anything as such.
According to Gold Derby’s predictions, Garner is now in the top 5 in the race to name the awards her own. The frontrunner, however, is the leading star cast of The Crown Imelda Staunton. It is a bit too difficult to make any predictions for the same. However, there is certainly a high bid for Garner to bag at least one of the coveted titles, in 2023. Nevertheless, it will be interesting to see how the actresses overpower each other on the final track to win the award.
The Screen Actor Guild has unveiled a tentative date for the 29th award ceremony. The key date is currently scheduled to be held on February 26, 2023.
