ONE PIECE Live- Release Date, Cast And Every Detail Inside
It was back in last year when Netflix announced that a live-action series of One Piece will be made, but it was not until September 2021 when an official announcement for it was made; when Netflix posted about this show with posting the logo and a slogan of the show. Now we are finally served with some news about the cast of the show; along with some words from the creator of the original anime himself. So let’s get straight to business and talk about everything we know about this show.
One Piece live-action on Netflix
One Piece has a fanbase of its own. The original manga series has 100 tankōbon volumes as of September 2021; the anime series with around 1000 episodes (and still counting) One Piece is a legend among the community. So when Netflix announced this new live-action adaption of One Piece, fans were both excited and a little scared about how will this would turn out; which is every single anime fan in a nutshell. But as the slogan of the series suggests, “no matter how hard or how impossible it is, never lose sight of your goal.” Netflix is here to give its best!

Eiichiro Oda, the creator of One Piece said, “We’ve been working with Netflix and Tomorrow Studios on the massive project that is the Hollywood live action series adaptation of ONE PIECE! How many years has it been since it was announced, right? I know, I know!“. Only time will tell how good did the streaming giant do; until then all we can do is wait.
One Piece live-action cast
It takes a lot of effort when you are working with two absolutely different cultures; the creator of the original manga pointed it out very clearly. But atleast we now have an update regarding the cast of One Piece live-action on Netflix. They ofcourse had to release some news about the show, as the fans were literally going crazy. “Rather we need to hurry and announce it or else it’ll be leaked apparently! Hilarious lol. Their face, the size of their mouths and hands, their aura, the way they carry themselves, their voice, their acting skills, their height, the balance amongst the Straw Hat Crew etc” said Eiichiro. “We decided on this cast after numerous discussions involving people around the world! These are the people who will be our Straw Hat Pirates!”

As of the latest revelations, Iñaki Godoy will play Monkey D. Luffy, with Mackenyu set to play Roronoa Zoro. Emily Rudd will play Nami, Jacob Romero Gibson will play the role of Usopp. Taz Skylar will play Sanji. These characters together make up the Straw Hat Pirates, who also are the main protagonist if the story.
The production status of the series
One good news for the fans is that the production for the Netflix original series has already begun in South Africa. Netflix announced this via Twitter:

The live-action adaptation of any show is surely going to take some time to be made. The same is the case for One Piece, a series this big definitely requires all the attention and carefulness in the world. It’s actually better to wait and get a great experience than to get an average show ASAP!

While there are no official release dates announced, sources say that the live-action adaptation of the Japanese Manga will probably release in July 2022; which also is the 25th anniversary of the manga series debut.
