Heartstopper season 2 is literally just around the corner, set to take all on a journey of self-discovery. The teenage romance, the high school drama, and the LGBTQIA+ representation are back to give the same warm and fuzzy feeling that made the first season so lovable. And fans just can’t keep calm. Joe Locke’s Charlie Spring and his flame Kit Connor’s Nick Nelson are definitely going to be the focal point. But how many times have you swooned over a character and their relationship with their ‘cool and supportive’ parents? The makers are set to bring back the mother of all mothers, screaming mom goals.

Film Updates on Twitter just announced that Olivia Colman will return for the second season. The Oscar-winning actress plays the mother to Spring’s romantic flame, Nelson. In an interview with Variety, The Crown actress revealed how she said yes before she read the show’s script, recalling feeling “Oh, it’s really important.” The actress has been an avid supporter of equal rights and openly spoke up about Connor being bullied into coming out publicly. She played the perfect mother, on and off screen both.

And the Twitterati jumped in to show more support for this fan-favorite on-screen mother.

Heartstopper and its favorite mother will be mothering hard

The fairly younger audience swooned over her role as a parent on social media. She previously won quite some hearts by speaking up for her reel son. Connor came out as bisexual to the public last year. But sadly, it was a result of bullying. Saddened, Coleman said, “People should be allowed to have their own journey.” And her genuineness supports her superb acting. The netizens commended this “phenomenal” actor’s role confirmation. With many “love you” to fretting in excitement, the tweets saw it all.

Also adding more accolades to her shelf, another fan reminded us of her Emmy win for the first season.

And just a few hours away, the fans are ready to binge it.
