Royal protocols do get stringent at times. However, breaking the rules has become more of a trend than strictly abiding by them. Decades before Meghan Markle and Prince Harry went out of the tracks, the Prince’s mother Lady Diana was already laying the foundation to go against the normal. However, unlike what many people think, she was not the first to do so. Her mother-in-law, the Late Queen was also not all perfect when it came to going by the book. 

Although not for personal reasons, the late Queen did break some bars while standing up for her country. Not mentioned in the books of that time but recent reports have evidently pointed out at the bold step taken by Queen Elizabeth.

Brought to our notice by The Daily Express, the Late Queen once took an unwavering step with one of her outfits while addressing the nation in an open parliament. The year was 2017 and the Queen was to give a speech at the UK parliament following one of the notable moments in world history, Brexit. As the world watched her, she put up a stunning outfit of the colors blue and yellow. It startled the world as the same colors stand for the European Union in political matters. 

This bold gesture did raise a lot of eyebrows as Royal Experts and analysis always keep a close tab on each and every step taken by the UK Sovereigns. The royal enthusiasts did point out that the said choice by the Queen had a hidden meaning behind it. The Royal Family’s official website itself reads that the Monarch “has to remain strictly neutral with respect to political matters.” 

How did Meghan Markle break royal rules? 

Thus the same gesture by the Queen was instantly called out as violence of Royal protocols. People might be taken away by the all bold steps taken by the new age Royals like Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. Nonetheless, it has now become evident that they were not the only ones who went off the pages.

For the unversed, it is one of the age-old controversies surrounding the Duchess of Sussex that time and again, Meghan Markle has undermined the royal protocols by not following them.
