Henry Cavill is one of those names leading the race to be the next James Bond. Since it was confirmed that Daniel Craig would be leaving his role as the spy after the 2021 film No Time to Die, speculation over who would portray the next James Bond has been rife. Regé-Jean Page, Idris Elba, Tom Hardy, and Richard Madden are some other names who are in the race of being the next 007. The only problem that Cavill might face is his age.
Younger actors may beat the 39-year-old. Eon Productions (creators) haven’t picked the next James Bond, but Bond 26 will star “someone perhaps in their 30s.” Kit Harrington of Game of Thrones and Bridgerton’s Jonathan Bailey, both 35, defied the age odds. Topping that, there has been a new entry into the race. The actor who recently joined the race was in the news with his upcoming release on Netflix. And, it has been hypothesized that he could be the face of the next Bond. Let’s see who it is!
Henry Cavill has been outreached by this I Came By actor
If you’ve guessed George MacKay, then you’re absolutely correct. With his recent release, I Came By, George MacKay has been all over the news. He’s been appreciated for his performance in the film and there are a lot of speculations made too. One of them includes him auditioning for the next James Bond film. Now, Henry Cavill has been on the top of bookies’ lists. However, his age might become a factor that gives MacKay a boost. Check out him talking in the YouTube short about him auditioning for James Bond.
So you saw that MacKay said that it was a mere rumor, but a “lovely one“. We wouldn’t be shocked if a growing talent like George MacKay or Daryl McCormack—who isn’t quite an A-list household name yet—had a shot at the tryouts. Regardless, sources indicate that the next Bond film might start shooting as early as the winter of 2023. Although Broccoli herself said in late June that “at least two years” would pass before Bond 26 began production.
