“Not endgame”- Fans Make Peace With Their Favorite ‘Stranger Things’ Couple Splitting in Season 5

Stranger Things broke the norms for what a teenage science fiction is supposed to be as it amazed the world and became a global phenomenon that has carried on through more than a decade. From a unique plot with never seen before horrifying demo gorgons and a shrill inducing Vecna to characters that not only went through significant character development but also collided to give us some of the best love stories. However, with Season 5 of Stranger Things around the corner, one of these love stories is set to meet its conclusion or so fans are made to think.

From Nancy and Jonathan to Eleven and Mike the show has provided a couple catering to everyone's sweet tooth. However, it was Max and Lucas where the perfect balance was struck. With Max in a coma, and the brewing question being if she will survive and what is next for the couple if she does, Caleb McLauglin has told Film Stocked that "things might go left." And surprisingly, fans have taken it pretty well.

The dark clouds have been making the round around Stranger Things Season 5 not just in terms of delayed productions but with the saddening conclusion of the previous season, if things are ever going to be sunny in Hawkins again. This was especially true in the case of Max and Lucas as the latter failed to save her.

With the upcoming season being set to be the final one of Stranger Things, the cast and crew have kept their cards close, with the only real telltale sign being put forth was the tying of the threads left open. In the show that has gone on for more than half a decade, there are quite a lot of loose ends, and amidst all this, the chances of Max and Lucas getting a perfect ending especially after what the former has gone through were close to none.

Analyzing the dynamics between Max and Lucas, a few fans were of the thought that while they were perfect first loves for each other, they were "not endgame."

While some fans took the statement and immediately thought of the worst, others held on to the drying ray of hope that the actor was simply gaslighting fans to think otherwise.
