"No way"- 'Stranger Things' Fans Freak Out as Netflix Teases a Missing Jane Hopper in Season 5

A significant amount of time has passed since Stranger Things season 4, and fans are still hanging on for that long-awaited final season. Season 5 is expected to premiere sometime in 2025, wrapping up a nearly three-year wait. However, the exact release date is still not known. Last month, the creators announced that filming for the upcoming season had wrapped, while also sharing some adorable behind-the-scenes snaps of the cast and crew. Now they have dropped even more teasers to keep the hype alive.

Netflix recently unveiled a missing poster for Jane Hopper, aka Eleven, played by Millie Bobby Brown, featuring a phone number that viewers can actually call. The number, 765-303-2020, connected to a voice message from the Hawkins Police Department, stating that finding Jane Hopper is their top priority. The officer on the line also mentioned Hawkins is currently on lockdown after a major earthquake, possibly tied to the Upside Down's aftermath following the events of season 4.

The poster even promises a reward for all leads which result in the location of Jane Hopper or her body. According to the details, Eleven was last spotted near Hawkins High School before mysteriously vanishing on the afternoon of June 13, 1986. And since season 5 is supposed to be set in the fall of 1987, it sounds like Eleven’s whereabouts might be the first giant question mark when the season starts. While this teaser was exciting, it has not exactly made the wait any easier for fans. If anything, it has only fueled their curiosity even more.

Every 'Stranger Things' Character Who Might Die In Season 5

Fans have now taken to X to (somewhat) aggressively demand for Stranger Things season 5 to drop.

Fans’ patience is being pushed to the limit by Stranger Things and its teasers

This is not the first time Stranger Things has pulled the phone number trick for fans to call. In season 3, fans got a mention of Murray’s home phone number, teasing that Jim Hopper might still be alive. Then, in season 4, they got another number for The Nina Project. But perhaps the most fun came with Argyle’s pizza delivery van number— fans could actually leave messages that featured the character’s voice. And now, this new phone number tease has sent fans’ excitement levels through the roof. "No way, the hype for ST4 is skyrocketing rn," a fan wrote.

That said, not everyone is as excited anymore. Some fans are starting to feel worn out by the long delays, and there is a definite sense that the buzz around the final season is not as strong as it once was.

Fans have already heard about a rumored release date for Stranger Things season 5, but it was not the month fans were hoping for. On top of that, the season will be split into two parts, which means they might have to wait until the end of the year to finally get the whole thing. So, while the phone number teasers are fun, it seems like the long wait is starting to take its toll.
