Another year, another paradigm-shifting update by Netflix, or so fans expect as they wait on their toes for the streamer to roll around the scheduled list of updates. The reason why this has become routine to the streamer's users is due to the increased competitiveness in the streaming market where Netflix once ruled.

Last year, the streamer had everyone up in the air as it revealed its decision to put an end to account sharing outside of one house. This year, it has seemed to soften its approach except for one major change.

In recent years, Netflix has made quite a few changes to its platform. Most importantly, it adapted to the two-part release system in order to engage more viewers, even though it went against the binge model that it was once popular for. Now, Netflix plans to do away with its download feature on the Windows app per Window's latest report.

The streamer is setting up some big updates for its Windows app. In fact, it is coming up with a new app altogether for Windows as revealed by a Netflix support page. This means better streaming quality, support for watching live events, compatibility with ad-supported plans, and more beneficial features. However, this would mean Windows users will not be able to download titles on the app.

While the month of May may have been harsh in other genres with the streamer removing fan-favorite franchises, the anime section, despite only adding a few new titles, had fans in a chokehold. Blood of Zeus Season 2 surely has to receive the larger part of the credit owing to the absolute havoc it caused with its gripping plot. Apart from the iconic anime, the streamer welcomed another original anime to its platform.

T. P Bon, made its way to Netflix at the beginning of May and with a cute time-traveling agent who saves people's lives at the helm of affairs, it was only a little while before it became a fan favorite. Apart from Blood of Zeus and T. P Bon, other animes such as Pokémon Horizons: The Series, Jujutsu Kaisen, and Dr Stone also colored Netflix's anime catalogue in May 2024.
