Netflix’s Top Shows ‘Black Mirror’ and ‘Stranger Things’ Will Now Have This in Common
From season one of Stranger Things to its most recent season four, its viewers have become familiar with the ins and outs of the town where nothing out of the ordinary happens except for the eventual interests of monsters from the upside down. On the other hand, Black Mirror thrives on the element of spontaneity. Its dystopian high-on-technology tropes are a stark contrast to Stranger Things‘ bare minimum use of technology. However, season 5 is opening the gate that connects it to Black Mirror.
While much cannot be said about its story, since its writers decided to participate in the ongoing strike, there has been a lot of development on the cast and crew front. After making two pivotal additions to the cast, it has been announced that Dan Trachtenberg from Black Mirror‘s Playtest will briefly be in charge of the reins for directing season 5.
Stranger Things has become synonymous with Duffer Brothers. The duo has not only written but also directed and produced a majority of the series. However, “at least one episode” of the final season will be directed by Dan Trachtenberg as per One Take News. This was later confirmed by the official Stranger Things account as well, which welcomed Trachtenberg to Hawkins.

This is not the first time the series will be seeing a new director. Previously, Shawn Levy and Nimród Antal have also worked on certain episodes.
A new director, especially one that has already played with the science-fiction fire, guarantees a fresher story. However, with the Duffer Brothers on break, fans are concerned.
Are the Duffer Brothers leaving Stranger Things season 5 midway?
Weeks of no updates from the Duffer Brothers and constant activity on the Stranger Things front have fans concerned. While the updates are exciting, if the Duffer Brothers are removed from the equation, there is nothing much to look forward to. Thankfully, Maya Hawke has reassured fans. The only loss that is headed fans’ way is the obvious delay in season 5.

Trachtenberg will only be taking the director’s chairs for one or a couple of episodes before the rightful owners take the chairs. And he even has the blessings of the Duffer Brothers.
