Netflix’s ‘The Crown’ Royally Thrashes ‘Harry & Megan’ With Back-To-Back Emmy Nominations

With just a couple of months left for the 75th Primetime Emmy Awards 2023, the Emmy nominations, which were out a few hours ago, have quite intrigued the masses. With the top-tier stars making their spaces on the esteemed list, A-rated shows also have garnered much love and support with their nominations. Netflix too has a myriad of its classics bagging the top spot. Needless to say, along with a few others, its royalty which has been one of the most watched franchises on the platform, The Crown has also made it to the Primetime Award selections. 

The series portrays the life and times of all the mystic yet prominent stakeholders of the British royal family. With four blockbuster seasons already keeping the fans hooked, the show is in the works for its latest and what could probably be the last season of the franchise. According to Variety magazine, the Television Academy Awards have nominated the critically acclaimed royal show for the esteemed Award of Outstanding Drama Series.

Its prominent cast who looked more Princess Diana than Princess Diana herself, Elizabeth Debicki, also stands a chance of winning a Primetime Emmy this year. Elsewhere in royal news, the legacy has always taken the hits head-on in real life from their members who could not run along with them. However, this time around, although on-screen, The Crown and the funniest opportunities to settle the scores and they took it. The other much controversial yet beloved record-breaking royal docuseries, Harry & Meghan, felt a drastic snub.

However, it also has its fair share of wins coming in. 

As The Crown secures Emmy noms, Harry & Meghan is up for the Hollywood Critics Awards

Made public earlier today, the Hollywood Critics Award Show also had their nominations out. And although The Crown is one step ahead with snagging a nom at the HCA too, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s tell-all project is on the bid with the other selected classics.

Many royal analysts and enthusiasts had their hopes high for the Sussex bombshell docuseries. However, it failed to grab the attention of the Emmys. The six-part-docu series incorporated some of the drastic revelations of the UK royal family as Prince Harry and Meghan Markle laid bare their ill-treatment at the age-old institution.
