Avatar: The Last Airbender might have comic-accurate costumes

Photographs from the set showed the program would offer viewers a shrine to Avatar Kuruk in the Northern Water Tribe, according to Avatar News, which was unable to post photos given to the source. The appearance of a statue of the Water Tribe avatar provided viewers with a precise depiction of what he will look like. It might resemble Kuruk from Avatar: The Last Airbender and The Legend of Korra, replete with a winter coat, polar bear pelt headgear, and a spear.

Avatar Kuruk was briefly mentioned in Book 1 of Nickelodeon’s animated series when Avatar Aang confronted Koh the Face-Stealer in the Spirit World. Kuruk first appeared in Book 3 when he informed Aang about the incident that marked his time as the Avatar.

However, The Last Airbender gave the Water Tribe Avatar only a tiny part over the course of three seasons. But speculations circulated early on that the Netflix series would offer him a larger role. It was then revealed that actor Meegwun Fairbrother will play the Avatar. However, it is unclear how many episodes he will appear in or how his role will differ from that of his animated counterpart.

The production for Netflix’s Avatar: The Last Airbender wrapped up in June. Gordon Cormier plays Avatar Aang, Dallas Liu plays Zuko, Paul Sun-Hyung Lee plays Uncle Iroh, and Daniel Dae Kim plays Firelord Ozai.
