Netflix is arguably the leading provider of anime content. The streamer has been on a roll with its anime catalog. From reinstating iconic anime shows and movies to its platform to releasing fresh ones, Netflix is going all in expanding its collection. Following the release of their record-breaking One Piece live-action series, the streamer is all set to return with another project. The American giant previously announced the release of their new anime project, Blue Eye Samurai.

Blue Eye Samurai has been a project to look out for. The fans have been pumped to see the upcoming adapted series since the streamer’s announcement in October 2020. And recently, Netflix unveiled some exciting details about the same.

Netflix reveals the latest updates of its upcoming project, Blue Eye Samurai

The fans would not have to wait long till Blue Eye Samurai graces the mini-screens as Netflix recently revealed the release date of the series. The animated show will premiere around the world on November 3. In addition to unveiling the release date, the streamer also released the first poster of the Blue Eye Samurai. A strong creative team of Blade 2049 will back the animated series. Meanwhile, Green Lantern and Logan fame, Michael Green will helm the project alongside Amber Noizumi.

The official poster of Blue Eyed Samurai introduced the fans to the lead character, Mizu. Maya Erskine will voice the character. The newly released image featured Mizu in her traditional attire, wearing her hat and pairing it with yellowish glasses. In addition to that, Mizu rocked a sword laced with blood and looked ready for battle. The latest image showed a completely different appearance of the character as compared to its previously released pictures. 

The previous batch of images gave a glimpse of the lead character in a relatively darker background. However, in contrast, the latest poster depicts a more lively adaptation of the upcoming samurai story. 

What is the Blue Eye Samurai about?

The upcoming animated series on Netflix, Blue Eye Samurai, is a larger-than-life action-adventure series. The story is set in the Edo period in Japan and follows the life of a disguised yet incredibly skilled swordsman eager for revenge. As per the creators, Blue Eye Samurai dates back nearly 400 years, and the themes are very close to their hearts. 

The animated martial arts flick is described as an emotionally grounded animated drama with a live-action attitude. Interestingly, Netflix will also bring back a sequel to One Piece’s live-action series following an impressive response to the first installment.
